Oklahoma Legislature discusses if unborn babies should be eligible for Life Insurance

“I among my democratic colleagues do not agree with the mandated ban on abortion, however it is now the law. My goal is to still find ways to protect the moms and babies that reside in the state of Oklahoma. We know that maternal and infant mortality is something that greatly affects women in our state, unfortunately that means we loose babies from women that want to birth them. Those moms should not have to bare the burden of going home empty handed and still having to pay the hospital bill and funeral cost out of pocket. This interim study seeks to explore the ways we could offer some potential help through a supplemental insurance policy. – Rep. Ajay Pittman
